Farm manager to start up 5,200 sow farm in Romania

We are currently looking for an experienced and results-oriented Farm Manager to start-up and mange one of our farms in Romania, built in 2017 and housing 5,200 sows (breeding – gestation – farrowing). The farm will be opened in steps throughout 2023.           

Main functions and responsibilities

• Manage the team of workers, recruit missing positions and train them on the job to ensure smooth induction;   
• Start-up the farm in steps throughout 2023 - from receiving the gilts, to insemination and first farrowings;
• Work closely with the production manager to optimize overall farm activity and results (breeding – gestation – farrowing);   
• Responsible for the overall farm biosecurity program;
• Review farms SOP and make sure it’s followed on daily basis;

Requirements   

• +6 years relevant experience managing a farm in Denmark with proven high-level production results;
• Experience in a leadership position managing teams of workers; willing to lead by example, work hard and show the way forward;      
• Very ambitious individual with strong desire to continuously improve and achieve high level production results;
• Open-minded with good communication skills;
• Structured approach, know how to prioritize while managing multiple balls in the air;
• Speaking Romanian and good skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Knowledge of Cloudfarms and Microsoft Office package.
